How to Change Password in Gmail App

Gmail App provides secure data handling. While making a Gmail account, it asks for a password to log in for the user's data security. But sometimes we want to change the Password in Gmail App due to security and privacy reasons. It can be done easily without any extra effort in the App itself.

Steps to Change Password in Gmail App: 9 Steps

Step 1- Open Gmail App: On your device, whether iOS or Android, start Gmail App by clicking on its icon.

If your device doesn't have the App, you can download it from Play Store. After downloading it, an icon will be available among other icons on your device. And you can open it by clicking on it.

Step 2- Tap on Profile Icon: Once your App has started, the main page will appear to you as shown in the image below. There will be your profile icon in the upper right corner of it.

Step 3- Tap on Manage Account: A dialogue box will appear after tapping the profile icon.

It includes your registered name and email id at the top. Below this, there is a column present as "Manage your Google account". Tap on it.

Step 4- Slide Tags: Once you enter into managing settings, there will be a bar to access different options.

You can select any one of them by sliding the bar to the left and clicking on it.

Step 5- Tap on Security: Now you have to slide the bar to the left and select the Security title.

Step 6- Tap on Password: In the security option, signing-in details will come up. It includes Password with the date when it last changed. Click on Password as shown by the red arrow in the image.

Step 7- Enter Previous Password: Now enter the previously set password to log in.

You have to enter the current login password here. Once you have entered the Password, click on "Next".

Step 8- Enter New Password: Once the current password is verified, Gmail will ask for New Password to be set for future login. Enter your new Password in the column.

Step 9- Enter Password Again and Tap on Change Password: Here you need to confirm the password by entering it again.

And click on "Change password" to set the new password finally.
