How to Attach a Folder in Gmail
When we want to share some kind of information with others through Gmail like photos, files, documents etc. we need to attach that folder with fully composed email.
You don’t need to write all the things in the email just click on your documents, files or folders, you can send all the information, not only to a specific individual but to the group also.

How to attach a folder in Gmail on desktop
- Open your web-browser: open your web browser, type www.gmail.com and press enter.
- Tap on sign in: Tap on sign in and sign in with your Gmail account.
- Click on compose: On the left-side corner, you see compose icon with + sign, just click on that.
- Write an e-mail: After clicking, you see the fully composed email, just mention the sender email id with subject and write your message.
- Click on Attach file: In the bottom, nearby send icon, you could see the attach-file icon.
- Attach the Folder: Just click on attach file. it will automatically take you to the documents folder. Make sure your folder should be in zip format. Select the folder of your choice and click on open button. Now, your folder is attached.
- Click on send: your folder is attached, now just click on send button and you can send your email to anyone.
When we choose the folder from your document section and then click on open button, sometimes it will take more time depends upon the size of files, from seconds to minutes, you can see the blue colored circular line, let it complete, then send the email.
How to attach a folder in Gmail on android
Just see these quick steps:
- Launch the Gmail app: Tap on your Gmail app on android phone.
- Tap on sign in: Tap on sign in and sign in with your Gmail account.
- Tap on compose: just write your email, whom you want to send.
- Tap on Attach icon: On the top right side, you see the eclipse-shaped icon, of white color, just tap on it.
- Select the Folder: When you tap on attach icon, you see there is two option: one is attach file and another is insert from drive, just select the option according to your choice.
- Attach the folder: after selecting one option out of two, just tap on the selected file, it will take few seconds to minutes.
- Tap on send button: Your folder is now ready to send, just tap on send button which is located just after the attach icon, it is in Triangle-shape or white color.
Attaching a folder in Gmail will take sometimes in uploading. It totally depends upon the speed of your internet and the size of your file.
You can also send the multiple folders together in Gmail but the size should be not more than 25MB, In this case, you can’t send that file, you will have to make a zip file or generate google drive link. This procedure will surely help you.
