The dark mode is one of the most revolutionary features. It lowers the light emitted by the device screen, hence reducing the strain on your eyes. The feature also provides an elegant and smooth feel to the entire app, which is very soothing. This feature is a new addition to Youtube's lineup of display features. It is a reasonably easy task to switch your display from the default Light theme to Dark mode on YouTube on iPhone.

The dark mode can be beneficial when you need to look at the screen for an extended period, e.g. while watching videos, movies, college lectures, etc.

Change theme on YouTube Video Player

Step-1 Open YouTube App

Navigate to the Youtube app on your app drawer. If you can't find the app, search for the auto-generated folder of google apps in your app drawer or type in "Youtube" in the search bar.

It might have been uninstalled from your device if you still cannot find it. Please navigate to the app store to re-install the app.

Step-2 Tap the profile icon.

Tap on the profile icon found in the app's upper-right corner. Your display picture is present on the profile icon. A drop-down menu will appear as you click on the icon.

Step-3 Tap Settings

Select the settings option in the drop-down menu from the drop-down menu, which is below your data section in the menu.

Step-4 Tap General

Click on the General settings option in the settings menu.

Tap on the Appearance option in the General Settings.

Click on the dark theme options from the theme selection drop-down menu, and the theme will turn into a dark-themed one.

You can select the Use device theme option if your device's default theme is dark.

Your YouTube app might not be updated to the latest version. Direct towards the App Store > search for YouTube app > click on the update button next to it.
