If you don’t want a record of pages you visited in Chrome in the last few days or months then you can remove your google chrome history in 4 easy steps.

Step-1 Open Google Chrome: Open the Google chrome app by clicking on the icon visible at the bottom of your laptop.

If you haven't installed then you can easily install Google Chrome from the Play store.

Step-2 Go to the three-dot menu: On the homepage or any app page, go to the screen's top right corner. On the top right corner, you will see the three-dot menu, tap on it.

Step-3: Open History: After tapping on three dots you can see a box opening up. Select the option 'History' from the list.

Step-4 Select 'Clear browsing history': On the screen opened you can see the names of all the pages you have visited in chrome. Then, on the top, there is an option of clearing your browsing data.

You can either delete all the data for once or you can tap on the cross visible in the front of the site you want to remove from your browsing history.


Is It Possible To Delete The Google Chrome History For The Last Six Months Altogether?

Google Chrome is no doubt one of the most used browsers and you can always set it as a default browser as it is convenient to use.

By default, chrome keeps your data for a maximum of 90 days which is almost equal to 3 months as most people do not require the sites they visited a month or two ago.

However you can extend the duration for more than 90 days as some people's work requires them to browse several websites in a day and they need their old browsed website after 90 days.

Is There A Way To Turn Off The Browsing History ?

Although there is no way to turn off the browsing history on chrome, you can delete it manually.

So, Make habit of deleting history after every session by following a few simple steps.

If you are signed in to Chrome with your Google account on other devices, then delete your browsing history and it will also delete your Chrome history on all the other devices you are signed in.

How To Filter Google Chrome History By Date?

Chrome allows you to easily search the site you visited recently or like a month ago by filtering the data by date.

You can do this by following few steps like:

  • You can go to to open Google My Activity page.
  • In Google My Activity page, you can click “Filter by date and product”.
  • Then, in the pop-up Filter by date window, you can click the drop-down icon.
  • And then select a time range to shift the browsing history: Today, Yesterday, All time or Custom.

How To Recover The Deleted History From Google?

You might delete some important data while deleting your history and so, you can recover them using few steps:

  • Open Recycle Bin.
  • Find the deleted history files, click on them and choose Restore option from the context menu.

  • Launch Chrome from the Home screen.
  • Then, tap the 'More' button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Select 'History'.
