Step-1 Open the Instagram app: The first step in the process of pinning a comment on a post is to open the Instagram app. To open the app:

Tagged posts
Followers
People you follow/ following

Bio/ profile description
Option to edit your profile

Choose the post and tap on it.

Step-4 Tap on the comments icon: When you open your post you will see three options:

Likes
Comment
Share

Tap on the Comments option.

Step-5 Tap-hold the comment and drag it to the left: Scroll through the comment section and select the comment you want to pin.The next step is to slide the comment to the left.

Here you can also like the comment by tapping on the heart icon that is present next to the comment.

Step-6 Tap on the pin icon: When you slide the comment to the left you will see three options:

Pin the Comment
Report the comment
The red option is to delete the comment

Tap on the Pin comment option. The pin icon looks like the one shown in the picture below.

Step-7 Tap on Pin comment: Lastly a pop-up message will appear on your screen. At the bottom of the message, you will see the blue option to pin comment.

Tap on the option and you will be able to successfully pin the comment on your post.

In the comments section go to the comment
Slide the comment to the left
You will see a red option to delete the comment

How To Report a Comment on Instagram?

To report a comment you have to follow similar steps that you follow to pin a comment.

Open Instagram, and go to your profile. Open a post, then go to the comments section. In the comments section slide the comment to the left that you want to report. Once you slide the comment to the left, a message icon enclosing an exclamation mark will be present between the pin is and delete option. Tap on the icon.

Now the top option will be to report the comment. Choose the criteria as to why the comment is bothering you and you will be able to report that comment.

Will the Person Know if I Pin their Comment?

Yes, when someone comments on your post they get all the notifications when you interact with their comment.

They will know if you replied to the comment or liked the comment or pin their comment. However, if you delete a comment then the other person is not notified. When you pin someone’s comment on your own post they get a notification saying the exact same thing: Your comment was pinned by _____. Pine comments always appear on top of the comment section and are visible to all your followers.
