Disable Google Meet Chat in 6 easy steps:
Step-1 Open Google meet: Firstly, open the Google Meet application on your device.
- In many devices, Google Meet comes pre-installed.
- If you don't have the Google Meet app on your device, simply download it from Play Store.
- Also, make sure that your device has good internet connectivity.
- Click on the Google meet application to open it.

- Click on the 'New Meeting to create a new meeting.
Step-3 Click on “Start an instant meeting”: Next, spot the option 'Start an instant Meeting'.
- Select the option 'Start an instant meeting in Google Meet.
- You can share the google meet link and ask anyone to join to see if disabling chat is working or not.
Step-4 Click on “three dots”: Further, now that you've joined the meeting let's proceed.
- Spot the 'three-dots' on the right corner of your screen.
- Click on the 'three-dots' option to get this going.
Step-5 Click on 'Host Controls': After clicking on the three dots, a new menu will open up.
- You can see several options present on your screen.
- Find the 'Host Controls' feature from the options present on your screen.
- Click on 'Host Controls' as shown in the image below.
Step-6 Disable Google Meet chat: Lastly, in host controls, you can see that we can control various things from here.
- Since we have to disable the chat messages in Google Meet we'll do that only.
- Well now as you can see that 'Send Chat Messages' is enabled.
- Click on the tab in front of 'Send chat messages' to turn it off.
