Did you post a new story on Instagram but realize there's some mistake? Don't worry, you can delete an Instagram story in just a few seconds if you know these steps well. How to Delete Your Story On Instagram

Delete Instagram Story: 5 Steps

Step-1 Open Instagram Application: You wrongly posted some story, right? So, that means you already have the Instagram application.

Open the application on your device.
If by mistake it is removed, go to the play store application and download it.

Step-2 Click on the Story: On opening the Instagram application, you see the feed by default. Now, you need to open the story.

There are two ways to do that. One, on the feed itself, you need to click on your story. It appears on the extreme left, just before all the other stories.
If you do not find it that way, you can go in your profile icon.
The icon for going to the profile is at the extreme right corner at the bottom of the screen.
You will see the small version of your profile picture there.
It is on the left side of the heart icon.
Now, click on your profile icon as shown in the picture below. It will be highlighted in yellow and purple as you have posted the story.
By doing so, your story will open up.

Step-3 Three-Dot Icon: On opening the story, you see a three-dots option at the bottom of the screen on the right-hand side. It is just beside the highlight icon.

The three dots are arranged vertically.
Click on that to go further.

Step-4 Click on Delete: The three-dots icon opens up many different settings and options for the story. To delete Instagram story, click on delete.

The delete option is the first one in that list.
It is red in font color. Thus, easily visible and accessible.

Step-5 Choose to Delete: Now, when you click on delete, a dialogue box appears. It asks for confirmation of deleting. Click on delete here also.

Thus, you delete the Instagram story in this way.
You can retrieve your story anytime within 30 days if it is in your archives.

So, as told, you can delete the Instagram story in just a few seconds if you know the steps well. And did you know? You can even delete posts on Instagram and delete the entire Instagram account anytime if you want to. Deleting anything depends on your need and activity. You can delete posts if they become too old or you want to give a new look to your feed. If you do not want to use Instagram anymore, delete the account itself.

In the case of stories, they remain active on your feed only for 24 hours.
However, you can add them to highlights if you want them to stay forever on your feed.
Even then, you can choose to delete it at any time with similar steps.
