Create Text Shadow in Canva App in 6 Steps

Step-1 Open Canva App: On your mobile device, get the application of Canva up and running. We will be doing the steps from the app version of Canva itself. So, you do not need to open the heavy laptop or PC for the purpose.

Step-2 Click on Plus Icon in Editor Menu: If you have started with a blank post, click on the plus sign to add the text element in your design.

Step-3 Go to Text: From there, go to the text option to see all the available templates for adding new text.

Step-4 Select the Text: To create text-shadow in Canva, you need to select the text for which you want shadow. If you are working on a blank template, go to the text and type some text.

Alternatively, if you are using some ready-made template, click on the text for which you want to create a shadow.

Step-5 Chose Effect: Now, by clicking on the desired text, certain editing options appear at the bottom of the screen. Scroll towards the left to find the option of 'Effects.' Its icon looks like a magic wand of a fairy. Click on that to go further to the last step to create text shadow.

Step-6 Choose Shadow: Choose the shadow option in the effects. You can repeat this for all the text for which you would like to have a shadow.

Can I Do More Editing to the Shadow?

When you click on shadow, a menu type icon appears on top of it. Click on it again for more editing options for shadow. You can use the sliders to increase or decrease offset. You can also change the direction of the shadow from there. There are also options of blur and transparency. On top of it, you can also change the color of the shadow that appears.

Can I Add Text Transitions?

You can definitely add text transitions just as you add video transitions in Canva. From the list of options that appear below on selecting the text, select the option of 'Animate.' Thus, like this, text animation can become a part of your Design.
