How to Change Phone Number on Telegram App
The telegram app requires you to register your account with a mobile number. Thus, they act as unique identifiers so that whenever you switch to a different number, you can still change telegram number and retain all your data. Telegram allows you to change your number so that all your telegram data, including the messages, media, contacts, etc. can be moved to the new number you provide.

Change Telegram Phone Number in 6 Steps
Step 1- Open telegram and tap on the three-bar icon: To begin, go to your device's app store and download the Telegram app.
- The app has a white icon with a blue background and a white paper plane.
- Go to your device's app menu or main menu, which contains all of your apps.
- Look for this symbol and select the Telegram app from the list.
- In the top left corner of the app, there is a hamburger icon or three horizontal bars icon. Select it by clicking on it.
Step 2- Tap on settings: From the left side of the screen, a selection of options will appear. Choose "settings" from the menu.
Step 3- Tap on change phone number: The settings page will open up a list of options located under different subheadings.
- The first subheading contains the details of your account.
- Under this subheading of account, the first option will include your phone number.
- This phone number will be the same number that you had used to register your telegram account with.
- Tap on it to change your phone number.
Step 4- Tap on change number: The next page will have a button that says “Change Number.” Tap on it to change telegram number.
Step 5- Tap on change: A pop-up will appear on your screen. This pop-up confirms your action to change your number.
- It also displays the message which states that all your contacts will see your new number if they have you added in their contacts or if your privacy settings allow you to see them.
- Click on the option that says “change.”
Step 6- Enter the number & tap the tick icon: In the last step, all that’s left to do is type in your new number.
- If you have moved to a different country, it might require you to change your country and country code.
- After entering your number, you will receive a confirmation code as a verification.
- This confirmation code will be sent in the form of an SMS to your new phone number.

Note:
- You get to decide who you want your phone number to be visible to. You can change the settings for this by selecting either of the three options from “everybody”, “contacts” and “nobody.” The option “everybody”, allows everyone, including people, not in your contact list to see your phone number.
- The option of “my contacts” if selected, will only be visible to your contacts. If you don’t want anyone to see your phone number, then you can select the option of “nobody.”
