Step-3 Tap On 'Manage Your Account': When you click on your profile picture in the previous step, just below your name you will see a tab with the title 'Manage your Google Account'.

Step-4 Tap 'Personal info': The default tab that opens up when you execute the previous step correctly, is the Home tab. But, you have to switch to the second tab by clicking on the 'Personal info' tab heading.

Step-5 Tap On 'Phone': Now, click on the PHONE section.

  • If you have already added a phone number previously, you will see that number only.
  • Otherwise, you will see the tab blank with the text 'Add a recovery phone to keep your account secure'.

Step-6 Tap On 'Add now': Gmail will now tell you about the importance of adding your phone number in order to use Gmail app to the core. Here, you have to tap on the 'Add now' button.

Step-7 Enter number: Now, Gmail will ask you to 'Enter the number that you'd like to use'. Here, click on the 'Enter number' tab.

Step-8 Tap On NEXT: From the CANCEL and NEXT option, choose or click on the 'NEXT' option.

Step-9 Tap On 'Get Code': After entering your mobile number you need to verify it with the help of a code. To receive the code on your number, click on the GET CODE option.

Step-10 Enter Code & Tap Verify: Finally, you need to do the following two things:

  • Enter the code that you have received on your mobile number.
  • Then, click on the VERIFY option.
