There are many cases in which people either lose their ATM card or their cards are stolen. The smartest thing you can ever do in such a case is to block your card. The quicker you block your ATM card, the lesser will be the chances of fraud and forgery. Here, we will take you through the steps you must take to block your card.
There are many ways you can block your ATM card, the four of them I’ll show you now.
This solution will apply to you if you have applied for Net Banking and submitted the required documents at that time. This will work only if you have ever created your Net banking account on SBI website or app. If you have a username and a password for your net banking uses.
Step 2: Find and select “ATM Card Services” and then “Block ATM Card”
Step 3: After that, you will see a screen which will ask you to select your account from all the associated accounts with SBI. Select the account which is linked to the ATM card you currently want to block.
Step 4: The next screen will show you all of your debit cards. This list will include both active and previously blocked cards. Additionally, the screen will also allow you to see the first four and the last digits of your ATM card number. Select the card you wish to block at the moment.
Step 5: Press “Submit”, thereby confirm your details thoroughly.
Step 6: Select the method through which you want to authenticate the process. You will be given options to select from OTP or your Account's password. Select the one you find easy.
Step 7: On the next screen, enter the OTP delivered to your registered mobile number or password for your net banking account. Hit “Confirm”
Step 8: The next screen will show a message indicating that your card has been blocked successfully. There will also be a ticket number which has to be noted down by you for future reference.
The below given solution can be performed from a mobile app from SBI.
Step 1: Download and install “Yono SBI” or “Yono SBI Lite” app from the play store or app store.
Step 2: Log in through your net banking username and password.
Step 3: On the homepage you will “Services” section with an icon. Press it.
Step 4: The next screen will show various option but the one you have to click on is “Debit Card Hotlisting”
Step 5: The screen will ask you for your bank account. Select the one associated with your ATM card.
Step 6: After that, a selection for an ATM or Debit card will appear below that. Select the card you want to block currently.
Step 7: After selecting the card, a new option will appear asking the reason. Select the one relevant to you, “Lost” or “Stolen.”
Step 8: There will be an option to add any remarks if you have. If not, press “confirm”
Step 9: The next step will be to authenticate your actions. The options to select from are “OTP” and “Account Password”. Select the one available for you and enter it. Checking it thoroughly, press “Submit”.
Step 10: If you did everything as mentioned above, the next screen will show you a message that will confirm that your request was a success.

One of the other ways to block your SBI ATM card is to block it in time quickly with SMS.you just have to send “BLOCK XXXX” to 567676. Note that here, XXXX refers to the last 4 digits of your SBI ATM/Debit card.
One other way is to visit your branch of the bank and apply for a form and fill it. Submit it with your documents and sign. And this block your card.
