How to Add Comments to Design in Canva
When you share designs in Canva for collaborative work, you should be able to put your ideas. There is no use in sharing designs and then using WhatsApp or calls to put forth your changes or ideas. However, you can add comments to designs in Canva for the purpose. The commenting feature allows you to give your suggestions right there in Canva for everyone who has access to the design to view it.

Add Comments to Designs in Canva in 8 Steps
Step-1 Open Canva App: It is obvious that you will need the Canva application to view and comment on your shared designs. So, get the application from the play store if you do not already have it.
Step-2 Create or Open an Existing Design: Create a new design and share it with your team or open an existing one to get going with the steps of this process.
Step-3 Click on the Page or Element to Comment On: You need to select the element or page for which you would like to add some comment.
Step-4 Click on Thought Bubble: By clicking on any page or element, certain icons open up at the bottom of the screen. Scroll it to find the icon that looks like a thought bubble or chat bubble. You can see the image below for reference. Click on it.
Step-5 Type Your Comments: Type any comment or suggestions that you want others to know.
Step-6 Mention Others: You can use @ to mention anyone in the comment. If you want a specific teammate to look at it and work on it, mention them.
Step-7 Select the User: When you type @, you will get a list of suggestions that can access the design. Select the person and jump to the last step.
Step-8 Post the Comment: Finally, click on the upward arrow key to post the comment.
Does the Design need to be Shared for Adding Comments?
It is not necessary. However, if you are the only one using the design, you will add comments for yourself only, that you can view and work on. The feature feels useless that way. The main use of the feature is when you have a team working on some design and everyone is working on some specific part.
You can comment element by element to give ideas and suggestions on each of them separately. So, the team member responsible for that specific element can consider it.
Can I Do This in The Web Version of Canva?
This feature is also available for the web version. All you have to do is open the design. Click on the desired element and the comment box icon pops up at the side. Click on it to add your comments to the web version of Canva.
Will the Comments be Updated on Mobile and Web both?
Canva auto-saves your design. So, whatever changes you do from the mobile version are updated in the web version and vice versa. You need not worry about losing any of the changes that you do on the go from your mobile device. Just the account that you log on from should be the same for both. You can even create folders in Canva to view them anytime.
